PERSONALITY.

Words used to describe Lani/ Lorelei would be many things. One of the biggest words is confident. She is confident in her talents, as well as confident in the way that her powers work against males. She started life out a bit scared and worried, as she was from a parental structure that was less than desirable. She had to grow into her confidence, as when she first discovered her abilities, she was afraid to use them, though after a couple of years, and the realization that she could have whatever she wanted.

Lorelei also tends to be a bit spoiled and conceited. It has developed and became something more and more as she has gained fame in her little country of Genosha, as well as with getting every single whim that she has. It’s grown more and more over the years, as if she wants a ring, or a certain bracelet, she simply sings to a male, albeit it a rich male, to purchase it for her. She is extremely particular with her looks and body, she believes that you must always present your best face, and will spend hours getting ready if she deems fit. She is fashion forward and will make sure that not a hair is out of place or a stitch is wrong.

Perhaps a side effect of her powers is that she has been deemed a temptress and seductress. She has had a hard time really connecting to many on a personal level. If she gets too close to one, she begins to wonder if they are with her because they want to be, or if because she has tempted them to do so. She does have the abilities to draw people to her, as she comes off nice and sweet, and tends to have a magnetic personality, though it’s more evident with the male population. Female wise, she only has a few friends, which is perhaps why she has been deemed a seductress, she seduces men to do her bidding, via singing.

Aside from what one might consider to be bad personality traits, there are sides that only a few see. She loves to have fun, and is an avid thrill seeker. There is something to the draw of the crowd, the click of the cameras, and the thrill of the chase as it where. She loves singing, and has begun to work a bit on making a few of her songs public, or semi public.

BIOGRAPHY.

Alina met Colton Ubanu one morning while she was being subjected to some of the new mutant tests. She had been forced to undergo tests for such a long time, and today’s test had been particularly nasty. Looking up form her spot on the table, she noticed that the man running the tests wasn’t her normal doctor. She didn’t see the normal disdain for mutants, but instead a kindness in his eyes that drew her into him. He had the most beautiful blue eyes and somehow the two struck up a bit of a friendship. Their friendship eventually became something more and the two began to have a real relationship. A few months later, Alina found that she was pregnant and the two were married in a quiet ceremony in a small township.

Lani was born on a warm autumn day on April 1, 1987 to Alina and Colton Ubanu. While for many a birth would have been a joyous occasion, and while yes, her parents were excited that she made it into the world safely, they were also worried that their little girl was going to be like her mother. Her parents both knew that she had been born into a world where she may not be accepted as she was the daughter of a mutant. The two parents lived a happy life with their daughter until she turned fourteen.

Lani longed for the freedom to do what she needed to, as she always wanted to play with the other children, though human children wanted nothing to do with her, nor did children of mutants. For the first few years of school she felt that she was pretty much alone in the world and often lost herself to flights of fancy and fleeting moments. She found that she loved to spend her days down at the beach, soaking up as much sun as she possibly could.

She received her powers when she was 14, one afternoon while sitting on the pier, she was humming an old sea chantey and noticed that the men were stopping in their tracks to listen to her. At first she figured that perhaps they were just listening to her sing because she was a beautiful young woman, it was only after one time she sang something about jumping from the ship and bringing her their gold that it started to make sense. Slowly she realized that she was able to control those around her. She told her parents abut her abilities and instantly was rushed into a room where she was told what she could and couldn’t do with her abilities. One of the things she was not to do was to use her powers to hurt others, never for personal gain. She agreed to do her best to live by these rules and began to develop her craft a bit more.

At the age of 16 she began working at one of the local lounges, singing for the general public, and those who lived in her little community. She had begun to wonder if perhaps her talents worked on everyone and would often test out songs in front of mixed groups. The answer was apparent when she became a hit amongst the men in the community. It was only more firmly rooted when she was able to get as many men in the building as it would hold. She slowly began to slip on her agreement with her parents, she sang songs where she asked for trinkets and baubles, money and wealth, and at the end of every night, she would return home pockets full and new gems dripping from her fingers.

She had only ever sang about men bringing her money, jewels, furs and cars and that was as far as she had used her gift, though it all changed when she turned eighteen. Her final shift to the dark side happened then, she was walking home from work and a young man, who had became obsessed with the young woman, followed her down the alley. She could hear footsteps behind her and turned a few times to look behind her, though she didn’t see him. Suddenly she was pushed into the wall, a blindfold over her eyes, and her mouth blocked as he attempted to rape her. She fought back against him, fianally freeing his hand from her mouth and then used her powers on him. She sang to him about stabbing himself in the heart, though before that, she had suggested that he sever his own genitalia.

It was after this event that she grew to where she didn’t trust men, she’d watch them while she sang, and if one showed signs of being less than honorable, she’d sing and lure them to the water, where she’d send them to their watery death. It was also at this time that she began to test her abilities more, the strength and power of it, singing to ships as they came into port, seeing if she could get people to bend to her will.

She has continued to live on the island, enjoying the life that she had began to make for herself as it was time to do so. She didn’t got to college, as she chose to live the life of a wealthy heiress, never having to work if she so chose not to. She slowly began to frequent a few of the clubs in the area, finding the men who were wealthy and then she’d began her seduction technique, using her voice to hypnotize them into giving her everything that she wanted. In fact, that is how she became the owner of the mansion that she currently resides in. Slowly she gained more of a name for herself, and found herself in the very pit of riches and power.

It was due to her having one of the biggest homes on Genosha, men at her beckon call, a startling bank account, and mysterious deaths of men who all died upon the shore, that she happened to meet Magneto. He had came to the island having heard about the mysterious singer who could have whatever she wanted. When she had heard that he was coming to see her, and planned to use her skills on him. She knew who he was to some extent, but then again didn’t. When he finally did call, he would have found that her home was spotless, and she was dressed to kill, somewhat literally, though soon she found that she was enjoying the conversation, she decided against it. He tempted her with moving to New York to further her abilities and work with him, something in which she said that she would think of.

After he left, she began to feel that she has perhaps reached her potential in Genosha and the allure of New York City was starting to make her a bit hungry for more.
